台風21号が接近するので下げて，ブームをタワーに縛り付けておいた4エレクワッドですが，昨夕上げようかと目視したところ，リフレクターの18MHzのエレメントが切れていました．<\/p>\n

足場が悪くて良いアングルで撮れず，18MHzのリフレクターと，14MHzのラジエターが重なって見えますが，中央からだらんとS字状1<\/a><\/sup>裏の”S”ですが^^;<\/span>に下がったのが破断した18MHzのエレメントです．本来は右方向に水平に延びていないといけません．<\/p>\n

エレメントが切れたのは，2016年末の同じリフレクターの14MHzのエレメントが切れて以来です．このときは，リフレクターのスプレッダーを分解して外し，大工事になりました2<\/a><\/sup>SNSでお仲間には報告しましたが，本BLOGに記事は書かなかったようです<\/span>．<\/p>\n

エレメントは硬銅の単芯の裸線でできていて，グラスファイバーのスプレッダーの揺れに伴い金属疲労します．外側のエレメントほど疲労は激しいことが想像できますが，実際14MHzのエレメントを修理したとき，痛み具合から次は18MHzだなと思いました．今回，下げた位置で雑木と触れるので，台風の風で木が揺れて触れて，破断したのだと思います．<\/p>\n

なお，クワッドのトラブルとしては，今年5月のマッチングユニット支え破断以来です3<\/a><\/sup>こちらは構造上の欠陥で，数年ごとに破断します．本BLOGに記事はありません．<\/span>．だんだん，MTBFが短くなってきました．<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
