終活の一環でサーバーを小さくする<\/h2>\n

断捨離・終活の第一歩として，自宅サーバーをスペックダウンします．案としては，<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. IntelのSoCのMBを使う<\/li>\n
  2. Raspberry Pi 3にSSDを外付けする<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    の2案を検討しています．<\/p>\n

    第１案のメリットは，今動かしているサーバーのSSDをそのまま付け替えれば動く，という移行の簡便性です．消費電力は20〜30W程度になる見込みです．<\/p>\n

    第２案のメリットは消費電力のさらなる小ささです．外付けSSDに外部電源を接続しても全体で20Wを越えることないと思います．また，サイズも極小です．<\/p>\n

    デメリットとしては，現在のサーバーとアーキテクチャーが違うので，OSは新規にインストールし，データのみを移行することになります．<\/p>\n

    これはかつて実験したことがありますが，慎重に手間をかけ，データの一貫性を確認しながら作業を進める必要があります．<\/p>\n

    また，アーキテクチャーの違いにより，現在のサーバーで動いているソフトが必ずしも動くとは限りません．<\/p>\n

    BLOGの停止も検討中<\/h2>\n

    このサーバー交換に関連して，当BLOGもそろそろ終わりにしようかと考えています．<\/p>\n

    思えば1996年にシドニーに長期出張した際，近況報告用にと，日ごとのできごとをhtmlベースで書き連ね，BLOGとは少し趣が異なるのweb日記を立ち上げました．<\/p>\n

    帰国後，BLOG用の気の利いたソフトを探したのですがなかなかこれというのが見つからず，いったんWiki1<\/a><\/sup>PukiWiki<\/span>に移行してから，2005年の初めにZopeで走るCOREBlogを開始しました．<\/p>\n

    COREBlogは後にPloneベースのCOREBlog2にupgradeして，2013年3月まで続けました．ZopeやPloneの拘束条件があって不自由さもありましたが，COREBlog1\/2はすばらしい個人用BLOGソフトでした．<\/p>\n

    そして，現在のWordPressにして早くも4年あまりが経ちました．WordPressによるBLOGや固定ページの運用は非常に快適なのですが，BLOGのようなものの運用を開始してから20年経ち，無名の個人が運用するBLOGのそもそもの意義というものがなくなってきたように感じます．<\/p>\n

    もともと公に向かって，自慢をするつもりは毛頭なく^^; 検索機能を使って自分のデータベースとする，というのが第１の目的でした．ついでにGoogleなどの検索機能で，私の得た技術情報やノウハウを見ず知らずの人が使ってくれれば，それはそれで多少の社会貢献になるかな，的な意味合いも含んでいました．<\/p>\n

    今日では，OS付属の検索機能やクラウド機能によって，手持ちのPCやデータ端末（iPhoneやiPad）のどれかに，適当に書き込んでおけば，あとでどの端末からも検索できます．そんなわけで自分のデータベースは特に工夫することなく構築できます．<\/p>\n

    で，まあ，他人様に見てもらって社会貢献というのも，私なんぞのできることは知れています．他にも思うところあって，特にアマチュア無線に関することを当サイトに書くのはほとんどやめていました．<\/p>\n
