これまで，わが家のセキュリティー上重要な役目を果たしてきたRaspberr Pi 3 Model B (RPi3)ですが，ついにReal Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP) 画像の再生ができなくなってしまい，引退させることにしました．<\/p>\n\n\n

黒のパッシブな冷却機能のアルミケースに入れていました．<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Raspberry Pi OSを走らせてVLCで防犯カメラの出すRTSPをHDMIでつないだ地デジテレビに映し出すだけ，それだけなんですが，これがRAM 1GBのRPi3にはぎりぎりなんですね．何か月か前にupdateをかけたらブートしてVLCは起動するのですがすぐ落ちるようになりました．ひょっとしてと思い，VLCを前のバージョンに戻して，VLC関連のファイルだマスクしてupdateしないようにしました．そうしたらまた動くようになりました．<\/p>\n\n\n\n

しかしつい先日のupdateで，OSのリソースの占有率が増えたかなんかでとうとうVLCが起動しなくなってしまいました．<\/p>\n\n\n\n

そこで，空いているRaspberry Pi 4 Model B RAM 4GB (RPi4-4)と入れ替えました．このVLCでRTSPを観るくらいのことはRPi4-4には余裕です．<\/p>\n\n\n\n
