Raspberry Pi 3 Model B (RPi3)と同B+ (RPi3+)で防犯カメラが出力するReal Time Streaming Protol (RTSP) 映像を相変わらず見ています．ほんの2か月くらい前までは，非常に安定で，VLCがフリーズしたり落ちることは週に数回程度でした．<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ところがその後VLCをupdateしたら起動直後に画面がフリーズしたり1<\/a><\/sup>，起動はしても数十分〜数時間でVLCがフリーズしたり異常終了する様になりました．全く使い物になりません．RPi3もRPI3+も同じ状態です．<\/p>\n\n\n\n

そこで，RPi3についてはVLCのupdate前のバックアップをSDカードにコピーして戻し，VLC関係のupdateをしないようにしました．<\/p>\n\n\n\n

これでつい昨日までやってこられたのですが，昨日かけたupdateでちらっと見えたところではOpenSSLなどのupdateがあり，その後VLCが起動痔に画面がフリーズするようになりました．<\/p>\n\n\n\n
やむなくしばらく前の安定していたときのバックアップに戻し今はVLCも安定してRTSP映像を再生しています．当分システムのupdateはしないことにします．セキュアでないので “当分” の間ということにします．<\/p>\n\n\n\n
一方のRPi3+については予備機扱いのRaspberry Pi 4 Model B(RPi4)  RAM 4GBに置き換えました．こちらはVLCも，<\/p>\n\n\n\n
sudo apt-mark unhold $(apt-mark showhold)<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n
によってVLCのupdateの凍結を解除して，全てup to dateにしました．その状態でRPi4では全く問題なく安定動作します．これはVLCでRTSPを視るというタスクに関してRPi3(+)は限界だという意味ですね．<\/p>\n\n\n\n
そこでRPi4をもう1台買おうかと思い，価格を調べてみたら，RAM 8GBだと今日では3万円を超えるのですね．通販サイトの履歴で調べたら，2020年に購入したときはRAM 8GBで9000円でした．<\/p>\n\n\n\n
