近所のホームセンターにはないので，ネット通販でLAN用のコンセント用のコネクターを注文し，届いたので壁にLANケーブルを貫通<\/a>させる工事をしました．<\/p>\n\n\n\n

といっても，隣室とはLAN用のケーブルが１本引けるようにしてありました．そのため新たに壁に穴を開ける必要はありません．この工事をしたときにはRJ-45用のコネクタが入手できずRJ-11で代用しました．ツイストした2組をつなげば，1Gbps通りますので．<\/p>\n\n\n\n

今回は，RJ-45用のコネクターをこの工事用に4個，別の部屋にある25年前にアメリカのNetwork Warehouseから買ったおんぼろRJ-45コンセントの交換用に2個の都合6個を通販で買いました．<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RJ-11の着いた結線を引き出し，それより長めに２組のコネクターを取り付けました．今回購入したコネクターは，結線の仕方が非常にわかりやすくできていて，楽にできました．<\/p>\n\n\n\n

そして，壁の埋め込み．隣室のコンセントパネルは，15cmほどずれていて，作業は比較的楽でした．机やたなの下に潜り込んでの作業なので、それなりに大変でしたが，コンセントパネル用の穴を開ける必要はなかったので，その分ははるかに楽でした．<\/p>\n\n\n\n

これで，ルーターから一番遠い部屋までに透過すべき壁の数が1枚（石膏ボード2枚）減らすことができました．少なくとも問題の部屋でのWi-Fiの状況は悪くはなっていないようです．しばらく様子を見ます．<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
